Manchester United have made their opening move for Éderson after submitting a verbal offer worth €45 million to Atalanta BC, according to reports in Italy.
The proposal was discussed during a first meeting between representatives of both clubs as United continue efforts to strengthen their midfield ahead of next season.
Atalanta are currently evaluating the offer, although no final decision has been made regarding the future of the Brazilian midfielder.
Negotiations are also still at an early stage on the player’s side, with no agreement yet reached over personal terms between Manchester United and Ederson.
The 26-year-old has become one of Atalanta’s most important players since arriving in Serie A, earning praise for his energy, defensive work and ability to drive forward from midfield.
His performances in both domestic and European competitions have attracted growing interest from several top clubs across Europe.
Manchester United are expected to continue talks in the coming days as they look to secure reinforcements following an inconsistent campaign.
Atalanta, meanwhile, are believed to value the midfielder highly and may demand a higher fee before considering a sale.
