Barcelona had to come from behind before beating Sevilla 3-1 on Saturday, with Raphinha scoring all three goals to complete an impressive hat-trick. Sevilla took a surprise lead through Youssouf Fofana, but Barcelona quickly found their response and took control of the match after the break.
It was another important away win for Barcelona in the 2026-27 LaLiga season, with Raphinha once again showing how dangerous he can be in front of goal. Lamine Yamal also played a big part in the victory, providing the assists for two of Raphinha’s goals.
Barcelona started the match well and nearly opened the scoring after just seven minutes. Yamal got into a good position and struck the crossbar, giving Sevilla an early warning.
However, Sevilla soon showed that they were not going to sit back and allow Barcelona to dominate the game.
The home side took the lead in the 18th minute. Felix Correia delivered a cross into the box and Fofana was in the right position to finish the chance, giving Sevilla a 1-0 advantage.
Barcelona did not allow the setback to affect them for long. Just three minutes later, Raphinha brought the visitors level.
The Brazilian received the ball around the edge of the penalty area, managed to get away from his marker and produced a composed finish to make it 1-1.
Sevilla nearly regained the lead before half-time when Correia came close in the 40th minute. His effort went narrowly past the post, and Barcelona went into the break level.
The second half belonged to Barcelona.
Yamal was again involved when he provided the delivery for Raphinha in the 51st minute. The Brazilian got himself into the right position and headed the ball into the net to put Barcelona 2-1 ahead.
Sevilla now had to chase the game, but that created more space for Barcelona to attack.
Raphinha completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute. Once again, Yamal was involved in the build-up, finding Raphinha with a pass. The forward drove into the box before calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 3-1.
That goal made things very difficult for Sevilla, who needed two goals just to get back on level terms.
The home side made several changes as they tried to find a way back into the match. Ejuke, Carmona, Isaac Romero, Alfon Gonzalez and Guridi were introduced, but the changes did not produce the response Sevilla wanted.
Barcelona managed the final stages of the game well. Olmo and Yamal both threatened from free-kick situations, but there was no further addition to the scoreline.
For Sevilla, the result was frustrating because they had caused Barcelona problems during the first half and even managed to take the lead. But once Barcelona increased the pressure after the break, the hosts struggled to cope.
For Barcelona, the night belonged to Raphinha. His three goals turned a difficult start into another away victory, while Yamal’s contribution also stood out.
Barcelona will take plenty of confidence from the comeback, while Sevilla will have to look at how quickly the game changed after they went into half-time level.
