Allegri can’t escape Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments after losing to Empoli
Max Allegri of Juventus Turin has missed his first game since the deal that Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Manchester United this week, which of course has raised questions about his absence.
Allegedly, the Portuguese asked last week not to start our first game against Udinese before they left the bench and denied the winner thanks to VAR.
Then last night we played our first home game of the season against Empoli and once again didn’t win, but this time we were beaten 1-0 and the journalists naturally wondered if the two were linked.
When asked if his team missed Cristiano Ronaldo during tonight’s game, Allegri replied (via Juventus.com): “He scored a lot of goals here, but we can’t think about it any more. We have a very good team with very good technical and personal qualities. And can only improve.”
Ronaldo’s departure seemed to disrupt our preparations for the game while CR7 received a lot of attention this week, but there is little reason to lose to our team.
His absence shouldn’t affect the result in any way, but our players weren’t good enough on the night.
