Barça end 10-game Liga F win streak vs. La Real

Barcelona’s unbeaten start to the Liga F season came to an end on Sunday as Real Sociedad clinched a 1-0 home victory, courtesy of Edna Imade’s first-half penalty. The defeat halted Barça’s run of 10 consecutive wins in all competitions.

Imade converted from the spot midway through the opening period, registering her seventh league goal of the campaign and securing a statement win for La Real, who have been among the early pacesetters this season. It marked only the second time Barcelona have conceded in the league this term.

Despite the setback, Pere Romeu’s side remain top of the Liga F standings, four points ahead of both Real Madrid and Real Sociedad after nine matches. However, the loss highlighted the impact of their mounting injury list, with key players Ewa Pajor, Salma Paralluelo, Patri Guijarro, and Kika Nazareth all sidelined.

Romeu was forced to turn to several academy players, naming six teenagers in an 18-player travelling squad. Even with stars such as Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas, and Caroline Graham Hansen starting, the Catalans struggled to find rhythm and created few clear chances, managing just one effort on target over 90 minutes.

Barcelona appeared to have snatched a late equaliser through Norwegian forward Martine Fenger, but her stoppage-time strike was disallowed for offside.

The result ends a dominant early-season streak for Barcelona but underscores the growing competitiveness at the top of Liga F. For Real Sociedad, the win cements their status as genuine challengers, while Barça will look to regroup as they navigate a demanding schedule amid an ongoing injury crisis.
