Dele-Bashiru Benched Again as Lazio Stage Dramatic Comeback Against Parma
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru had to watch from the sidelines once again as Lazio clawed their way back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Parma in Serie A on Monday night.
It’s now three straight games without a minute of action for the 24-year-old midfielder, who last featured for the Biancocelesti during the heated Rome derby against AS Roma on April 13.
Despite limited minutes recently, Dele-Bashiru has made an impact this season, registering three goals and one assist across 19 league appearances.
Monday’s clash at the Stadio Olimpico got off to a nightmare start for Lazio, with Parma’s Jacob Ondrejka finding the net after just three minutes. The Swedish winger wasn’t done yet — he doubled Parma’s lead just a minute into the second half, leaving the home fans stunned.
But Lazio weren’t ready to roll over. Veteran forward Pedro stepped up, pulling one back midway through the second half before completing the comeback with a cool finish just six minutes from time.
The draw leaves Lazio sitting seventh in the Serie A table with 60 points, still fighting for a European spot with just a few games to go.
