FOOTBALL: Rashford Arrives in Barcelona Ahead of Loan Move
BARCELONA: Marcus Rashford, 27, has landed in Barcelona.
The Manchester United star is in place to complete his loan move to the Spanish giants.
This weekend it was reported that Barcelona and Manchester United have agreed a loan deal for striker Marcus Rashford, one of several players that Manchester United are actively trying to get rid of during this summer transfer window.
Now it seems that the deal is definitely getting closer to becoming official.
On Sunday evening, the English striker was caught on video arriving in Catalonia to complete his transfer.
A loan transfer where Barça is responsible for the player’s entire salary during the loan period, with a purchase option built into the agreement.
Presented on Tuesday
According to Mundo Deportivo, the striker is expected to be officially presented on Tuesday, when he is also expected to train with his new teammates for the first time. A medical examination is scheduled for today (Monday).
Rashford thus becomes Barcelona’s third signing this summer, after previously securing goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol and Swedish talent Roony Bardghji from FCK.
For Rashford himself, it will be his second loan spell in a row. The 27-year-old spent last spring on loan at Aston Villa, who did not choose to buy him out after the loan expired.
