Guardiola shares playful moment with cameraman after City win at Forest

Pep Guardiola provided a lighter post match moment after Manchester City’s 2-1 Premier League win over Nottingham Forest, briefly locking eyes with a cameraman before jokingly gesturing for him to move away at the City Ground.

City secured the victory thanks to goals from Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki, with Omari Hutchinson drawing Forest level early in the second half before the visitors regained control and saw out the contest.

The exchange came at full time as Guardiola walked toward the away end to applaud the travelling supporters. With the camera trained firmly on him, the City manager stared straight down the lens before smiling and theatrically indicating that the cameraman should disappear, drawing laughter rather than tension.

The moment carried added context given Guardiola’s history with touchline emotions this season. In November, following City’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United, the 54-year-old was involved in a heated discussion with Magpies captain Bruno Guimaraes and also appeared frustrated by television cameras as he left the pitch.

Saturday’s scene felt very different. The City Ground was lively throughout, with Forest pressing aggressively early on and City needing patience in possession to assert control. Guardiola spent much of the opening period animated on the touchline, directing buildup play and urging quick movement between midfield and attack.

Key incidents arrived either side of the interval. Forest’s equaliser briefly shifted momentum, forcing City into a sharper tempo and greater urgency in transition. The visitors responded by tightening their defensive shape and pushing higher up the pitch, limiting Forest’s space to counter.

City’s goals reflected that control. The opener came through composed attacking play, while the decisive strike followed sustained pressure as Forest struggled to clear their lines. From there, Guardiola’s side managed the game professionally, closing out the final stages with authority.

The late whistle brought relief and a touch of humour rather than confrontation. Guardiola’s playful interaction served as a reminder of his emotional nature, but also of a manager in a far calmer place after a valuable away win.

The result keeps City moving in the right direction as the league season gathers pace, with Guardiola’s side maintaining momentum and focus ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
