Man City’s Erling Haaland: ‘Flexibility’ key to ‘crazy goals’
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland says his exceptional flexibility and disciplined daily routine are key factors behind his remarkable scoring form this season.
The 25-year-old Norwegian has netted 24 goals in 14 appearances for club and country, finding the target in each of his last 12 matches. Speaking in the first video posted on his new YouTube channel, @erling, Haaland shared insights into his training habits and lifestyle off the pitch.
“I have natural good flexibility in my groin and hips, which for me is so important to keep,” Haaland said while receiving physiotherapy in the 27-minute feature. “How do you score these goals? You need to have good mobility or flexibility to score these crazy goals.”
The video documents a typical day in the forward’s life — from preparing breakfast and attending a physiotherapy session to training with City and cooking dinner. It also captures a visit to a local farm shop, where Haaland purchases raw milk and steak, staples he says are part of his nutritional routine.
Haaland’s channel, described as a personal project independent of Manchester City, offers a glimpse into the striker’s approach to maintaining peak condition and mental focus.
“People always see the matches, the goals, the celebrations — but not the hours that go into being ready for all of that,” he said. “It’s a bit of who I am away from the pitch, and I hope people enjoy seeing that side.”
Since joining City in 2022, Haaland has been central to Pep Guardiola’s attack, combining physical dominance with clinical finishing. His commitment to fitness and recovery has been cited as a major factor in sustaining his prolific output across domestic and European competitions.
Haaland’s video release marks a rare look into the daily habits of one of football’s most effective forwards, highlighting the meticulous preparation that underpins his record-breaking performances.
