Mbappé strikes twice as Real Madrid cruise past Levante to stay perfect
MADRID – Real Madrid extended their perfect start to the LaLiga season with a 4-1 win over Levante on Tuesday, with Vinícius Jr leading a first-half surge before Kylian Mbappé added a brace after the break.
The victory keeps Madrid top of the standings with 18 points from six matches, five clear of champions Barcelona, who have a game in hand before facing Real Oviedo on Thursday.
Vinícius set the tone early at the Santiago Bernabéu, running at Levante’s defence and creating repeated problems before finding the net to open the scoring. Madrid doubled their advantage before halftime, leaving Levante chasing shadows.
Mbappé, making his mark in the second period, struck twice in quick succession to kill off any hopes of a comeback. Levante managed a late consolation but never threatened to alter the outcome.
While Madrid remain flawless under Carlo Ancelotti, Levante sit 16th on four points and already face a battle to climb away from the lower reaches of the table.
