Nigeria will begin their campaign at the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships 2026 on Tuesday, with both the men’s and women’s teams facing early tests in their opening group matches.
The tournament carries added significance this year as it marks 100 years since the first World Championships were staged in 1926 in England.
Nigeria’s men’s team has been drawn in Group 15 alongside Hong Kong, China, South Africa and Saudi Arabia. Their opening match comes against Saudi Arabia, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Table 10.
The women’s team will compete in Group 11, where they are set to face Australia, Uzbekistan and Wales during the preliminary stage.
They begin their campaign later on Tuesday against Wales, with the match set for 5:00 p.m. on Table 14.
Both teams will be aiming for strong starts as they look to progress from the group stage in a tournament that brings together the world’s top table tennis nations.
