Otávio is the fifth FC Porto player elected to the team of the year

The Portuguese international Otávio, from FC Porto, was elected to the best ‘eleven’ of the 2021/22 edition of the I Liga as one of the best midfielders, announced today the organizer of the competition.

“In a vote carried out by the coaches and captains of the 18 teams participating in the I Liga, Otávio was elected one of the midfielders of the 2021-22 year”, reads the note published on the official website of Liga Portugal.

In his sixth season in FC Porto’s first team, eighth in the first tier in Portugal, the 27-year-old played in 32 matches, totaling 2859 minutes, three goals and 11 assists.

In a season in which FC Porto won the 30th national title in its history, Otávio was also elected ‘man of the match’ four times.

Born in Brazil, but with Portuguese nationality, last season the midfielder made his debut in the Portuguese national team and has seven caps and two goals.

In the team of the year, Otávio joined teammates Vítor Ferreira, Diogo Costa, Pepe and Mbemba. Pedro Porro and Matheus Reis, from Sporting, close the list of players already revealed.

In the II Liga, Guga, midfielder from Rio Ave, was the player revealed today, in a team in which his teammate Aderllan was already present, as well as João Teixeira and Alexsandro (Desportivo de Chaves) and Ricardo Batista, Vasco Fernandes and Leonardo Lelo. (Pia House).
