PSG have more ‘options’ with return of Dembélé

Paris Saint-Germain have been handed a significant boost with the return of forward Ousmane Dembélé to full fitness, giving head coach Luis Enrique greater tactical flexibility as the club enter a demanding phase of the season.

Dembélé, 27, missed recent fixtures due to a minor muscular issue but has resumed full training and is expected to be available for PSG’s next Ligue 1 match. The France international’s return provides Enrique with an additional attacking option alongside Kylian Mbappé, Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos.

Signed from Barcelona last summer for an initial €50 million, Dembélé has shown flashes of his trademark acceleration and dribbling in Paris but has yet to find consistent form in front of goal. His availability, however, offers PSG renewed width and unpredictability in attack — key elements of Enrique’s possession-based system.

Club sources said Enrique is pleased with the winger’s recovery and views his return as vital ahead of a busy schedule that includes league fixtures and the Champions League group stage. Dembélé’s versatility allows him to operate on either flank or in a supporting role, giving PSG more balance in rotation.

With Dembélé back in contention, PSG will look to maintain their momentum in domestic and European competition. His fitness could prove decisive as the club seek to build rhythm and depth heading into the winter period.
