Real Madrid have been dealt a major injury setback in the LaLiga title race after Eder Militao and Arda Guler were both ruled out for the rest of the season.
The club confirmed that Militao is struggling with a left thigh injury, while Guler has picked up a problem in his right thigh. Both players are expected to miss several weeks, effectively ending their campaigns.
According to reports in Spain, the pair will be unavailable for Real Madrid’s final six league matches, including the decisive clash against FC Barcelona on May 10.
The timing is a major setback for Madrid, who are already chasing the league leaders. They sit nine points behind Barcelona, with the title now slipping further out of reach as the season enters its final stretch.
Despite the injuries, there is some positive news for both players. Neither Militao nor Guler is currently expected to miss the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
For Real Madrid, the focus now shifts to finishing the season strongly, but with key players sidelined and the gap at the top still significant, their chances of catching Barcelona have taken another hit.
