Umar Sadiq Fuels Transfer Speculations Amid Limited Game Time at Real Sociedad

Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq has reignited speculation connecting him with a departure from Real Sociedad through his recent remarks, winonbetonline.com reveals.

Sadiq has been grappling with limited opportunities at La Real this term, accumulating only 224 minutes on the field across seven La Liga fixtures. He started just two of those games, though, and has recorded no goals and one assist.

With Sadiq tallying merely four La Liga goals for Real Sociedad since signing from Almeria in 2022 for €20 million, the club might be prepared to approve a move during the January transfer window.

The Nigerian forward could welcome such a switch as he declined to dismiss reports linking him with a winter transfer.

When questioned by Tribal Football about a potential move to Getafe in the coming weeks, Sadiq responded:

I’m not sure. Let’s wait and see what the future holds.

Before joining Real Sociedad, Sadiq played two campaigns at Almeria, where he netted 38 goals in the Segunda Division, helping the team secure promotion to La Liga.

Still a favorite among Almeria supporters, Sadiq acknowledges that the club remains a viable option for the future.

With Almeria, it’s always delightful,” Sadiq commented. “You never know what the future brings.

Sadiq is Nigeria’s second all-time top scorer in the history of the Segunda Division, trailing only Ikechukwu Uche, who amassed 79 goals.

Beyond Almeria and Real Sociedad, Sadiq has also played for AS Roma, Torino, Bologna, Glasgow Rangers, and Serbia’s Partizan, among others.
