One of the most common reasons why people are not getting their football bets right, especially when they are trying to predict the victor of a match, is because they are focusing on the wrong things and that is where everything starts to go wrong, even before the match is played.
In deciding the victor prediction of the day, most football fans and betting enthusiasts keep looking at the big teams, focusing on the result from the last match, and they judge what team is in form and which is not.

It is a good strategy, but it is not a comprehensive one.
We have seen that many teams who we expect to win end up losing and the underdogs or “smaller” teams cause unexpected upsets.
So what happens is that they make a prediction expecting victory and what they get is surprise or disappointment and that keeps happening and then they start saying football is not predictable when in fact what they are doing is not really prediction it is just wishful picking.
Victor prediction is not just saying which team is bigger or which team is stronger or who won the last match because the reality of football is that it changes every week and the conditions are never the same from one game to the next.
What matters more is to understand the conditions that lead to a team becoming victorious and then using that understanding to make a judgment and that is what we are supposed to call a prediction, because it is based on reasoning and not just feelings.
For example, if a team has been winning but they have played four matches in twelve days and now they are going away to face a fresh team that has been preparing for one week, it would be foolish to look only at the past wins and forget the fatigue and travel and the emotional stress.
But that is what most bettors ignore and that is why victor prediction becomes a gamble and not a strategy, because the thinking behind the choice is not complete, it is only surface level and the surface is not enough when you are trying to win.
And then there is the habit of trying to play too many games because one person wants to multiply their winnings and so they start adding match after match after match and hoping that all the victors they have chosen will all win at the same time which is very unlikely.
It is not that betting on multiple games is bad, but then the more you add the higher the chances that just one of them will fail and that one is enough to destroy the entire ticket, so what is the point of doing all that hard work only for one mistake to spoil it?
That is why it is better to focus on fewer games and even better when you are focusing on just one because the more attention you give to one match the better your chances of spotting what everyone else is missing and that is where the edge comes from.
There are people who think they are doing victor prediction, but what they are doing is picking favourites and there is a big difference between the team that is favoured to win and the team that has all the right things in place to actually win the game.
So if you really want to be serious about this thing, you have to stop rushing and you have to stop copying other people’s slips and you have to start doing your own thinking and asking the questions that matter, like who is missing in the squad and what is the motivation and how do they usually play away.
And then when you do this every day it becomes a habit and when it becomes a habit, you become sharper and before you know it, you are making victor predictions that are not only correct but they make sense even before the final whistle because the signs were clear from the beginning.
One of the platforms that does this kind of thinking very well is Soccervisto and the reason we are mentioning them here is because they have shown that it is possible to approach victor prediction with sense and not just emotion and that is what more people need to start doing.
So maybe it is time to stop saying football is luck and start accepting that the reason many people are not winning is because they are not planning and they are not observing and they are not patient enough to wait for the right picks.
The team that wins is not always the team that everybody expects to win but if you understand the game and you understand the setup and you remove your bias, then you can find the victor before the match is even played.
And when you do it right like that and you keep doing it over and over, you will start to see that football is not just for watching or arguing or following blindly but for thinking and winning if only you pay attention the right way.
