Pulisic shines as Milan ease past Udinese with 3-0 win
American winger scores twice and assists another to lift Rossoneri into Serie A’s top three.
UDINE, Italy – Christian Pulisic played a decisive role with two goals and an assist as AC Milan defeated Udinese 3-0 away from home on Sunday, sealing a third straight clean-sheet victory and extending the hosts’ winless run at the Dacia Arena.
Both sides began brightly, with early chances at either end. Milan goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano tipped over Iker Bravo’s long-range drive inside three minutes, while Udinese’s Răzvan Sava denied Pulisic from a tight angle. Sava then produced a fine reflex save to keep out Santiago Giménez from close range, but he was powerless to prevent Milan from taking the lead just before halftime.
Pervis Estupiñán’s cross deflected awkwardly, forcing Sava into a low parry, and the rebound fell kindly for Pulisic to finish from close range, his second consecutive goal on the road.
Milan struck again almost immediately after the restart, with Pulisic’s pressing winning possession high up the pitch. The American released Youssouf Fofana, who drilled a shot inside Sava’s near post for 2-0. Moments later, Pulisic himself added the third, beating Sava at the same near post to complete a superb individual performance and continue his prolific away scoring run — six of his last eight Serie A goals have now come on the road.
Udinese tried to respond late on, with Terracciano denying Arthur Atta and Nicolò Zaniolo curling narrowly wide from distance, but the hosts could not break through Milan’s defence. Their home struggles continue, with no league victory in Udine across their last seven attempts.
The win secured Milan’s fourth successive league victory over Udinese and lifted Stefano Pioli’s side into third place in the Serie A standings. Pulisic’s sparkling form, combined with Milan’s defensive solidity, underlined their credentials as early contenders in the title race.
