Spalletti Appointed Juventus Coach After Tudor Sacking

Luciano Spalletti has been named Juventus manager until the end of the season, the club announced on Wednesday, following the dismissal of Igor Tudor after a winless run of eight matches.

The 66-year-old Tuscan coach, who had been without a job since June, will make his debut on the bench in Sunday’s Serie A trip to Cremonese. Juventus, currently eighth in the table, are hoping Spalletti’s experience can revitalise a squad struggling for form and confidence.

Spalletti returns to club management after a brief and turbulent spell in charge of Italy’s national team. He was dismissed in the summer following a 3-0 defeat to Norway that left the Azzurri’s World Cup qualification hopes in jeopardy. His departure came less than a year after leading Napoli to their first Serie A title in over three decades.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Spalletti has agreed to a deal running until June 2026, worth around €3 million per season, with an option to extend if Juventus secure qualification for next season’s Champions League.

After Tudor’s sacking earlier this week, youth coach Massimo Brambilla took charge on an interim basis for the draw against Udinese. Spalletti now steps in with a clear brief: stabilise results, restore confidence and push Juventus back into contention for European qualification.

The appointment marks Spalletti’s first return to Serie A club football since his celebrated Napoli tenure — and Juventus will be hoping his trademark tactical discipline and motivational approach can quickly steer them out of their current crisis.
