Bayern Munich completed another historic domestic double after defeating VfB Stuttgart 3-0 in the German Cup final on Saturday, with Harry Kane scoring all three goals in Berlin.
The victory secured Bayern’s 21st German Cup title and their 14th domestic league and cup double, further underlining the club’s dominance in German football.
Kane’s hat trick also took his remarkable tally to 61 goals in all competitions this season, capping a sensational debut campaign for the England captain.
The Bundesliga champions ended a six year wait for the German Cup and completed another trophy winning season under manager Vincent Kompany.
Despite the final scoreline, Stuttgart impressed during the first half and caused Bayern several problems on the counterattack.
Maximilian Mittelstädt and Chris Führich were particularly dangerous for Stuttgart, while Kane’s only notable first half opportunity saw him head over the bar.
Bayern eventually broke the deadlock early in the second half through a superb move involving Michael Olise.
The winger burst down the right flank before delivering a low cross that Kane converted from close range.
Olise continued his outstanding season by registering his 30th assist in all competitions.
Bayern nearly doubled their advantage moments later, but Konrad Laimer failed to convert from close range with the goal open.
Kane eventually grabbed his second goal with 10 minutes remaining after collecting a pass from Luis Díaz and drilling a low finish into the corner.
The striker completed his hat trick in stoppage time from the penalty spot after Stuttgart were penalised for handball.
The latest trophy means Bayern defeated Stuttgart in every competition they faced this season, including the German Super Cup and Bundesliga meetings.
For Bayern, the domestic double once again highlighted their continued control of German football as they finished another campaign with silverware.
