Harry Kane has been crowned the winner of the 2025-26 European Golden Shoe after a remarkable scoring season with Bayern Munich, finishing ahead of some of football’s biggest attacking stars.
The England captain ended the campaign with 36 league goals, earning 72 points under the European Sports Media ranking system to secure the award for the second time in his career.
Kane’s consistency in front of goal proved unmatched across Europe’s top leagues, with the striker averaging more than a goal per game during another dominant Bundesliga season. His performances played a major role in Bayern’s strong domestic campaign and confirmed his status as one of the most reliable forwards in world football.
Erling Haaland finished second after scoring 27 league goals for Manchester City, while last season’s winner Kylian Mbappé ended third following a 25-goal campaign with Real Madrid.
Among the surprise names near the top of the standings was Dion Beljo of Dinamo Zagreb, who scored 31 goals to finish fourth overall.
Vedat Muriqi also impressed for RCD Mallorca, while Igor Thiago enjoyed a productive season with Brentford.
The Golden Shoe, awarded annually since 1968, recognises the top scorer across European domestic leagues using a weighted points system based on league strength. Goals scored in Europe’s top five leagues are worth two points each, while goals in lower-ranked competitions receive reduced weighting.
Kane’s latest success places him among an elite group of multiple-time winners. Lionel Messi remains the record holder with six Golden Shoe awards, while Cristiano Ronaldo won the prize four times during his career.
By lifting the award again, Kane joins legendary names such as Thierry Henry, Robert Lewandowski and Luis Suárez as players to have claimed the honour more than once.
