Norway delivered an impressive performance ahead of the FIFA World Cup, beating Sweden 3-1 in an international friendly on Monday despite resting star striker Erling Haaland.
Playing at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, Norway controlled the match from the opening minutes and looked sharp in attack as they completed their final home fixture before the World Cup.
Forward Jorgen Strand Larsen was the standout performer, scoring twice to lead the hosts to victory. The striker caused constant problems for the Swedish defence and underlined his importance ahead of the tournament.
Norway took an early grip on the contest and doubled their advantage when Antonio Nusa produced a composed finish in the 17th minute after cutting inside from the wing.

With Haaland rested for tactical reasons, Norway showed they have attacking options capable of delivering on the international stage.
Sweden improved after halftime and found a lifeline through Alexander Isak, who came off the bench to score an excellent solo goal in the 75th minute.
The visitors briefly threatened a comeback and thought they had reduced the deficit further when Sebastian Nanasi found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Sweden were also without key striker Viktor Gyokeres, who was left out of the squad after featuring in Saturday’s Champions League final, where Arsenal were beaten by Paris Saint-Germain.
Norway will now travel to the United States for their final World Cup warm-up match against Morocco in New Jersey on June 7.
Sweden, meanwhile, face Greece in Stockholm next week before departing for North America.
The result will boost confidence in the Norwegian camp as they continue preparations for World Cup 2026, with Strand Larsen and Nusa providing further evidence that Norway possess plenty of attacking quality even when Haaland is not on the pitch.
