Thomas Tuchel has a problem with Timo Werner, who has complained about the little role he thinks he has at Chelsea. The German striker demands “play more” to “be in good shape for the World Cup”.
Chelsea is about to start a new season, already with a renewed heritage and board. But Werner remains a headache as he has no opportunity in the starting eleven and the German believes he should have more minutes.
“I want to play more and I should play more to be in good shape for the World Cup and have the opportunity to go,” explained Werner in front of the press in the last few hours, a clear jab at Thomas Tuchel and the coaching staff.
Werner talks about the Qatar Cup, where he hopes to be a protagonist with the German national team. However, his performance has been disappointing at Stamford Bridge since his arrival.
After Lukaku’s departure to Inter, the option of the “9” opens up again for Werner, but Sterling has arrived and the situation with Tuchel doesn’t seem to change much.
“The dispute is not very different from last season. It remains the same. In a big club like Chelsea you must have that competence”, concluded Werner, who became a “blue” player in 2020.
