Glasner had ‘early’ talks over new Palace deal
Crystal Palace have initiated early discussions with manager Oliver Glasner regarding a contract extension, co-owner and chairman Steve Parish confirmed. Glasner, who guided the club to their first major trophy with last year’s FA Cup victory, currently holds a contract set to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season.
Parish outlined the club’s commitment to retaining Glasner, emphasizing the importance of aligning the manager’s ambitions with the club’s conditions. “We would love to keep Oliver; we are building something here,” Parish told talkSPORT. “For Oliver, it’s about enjoying his work environment and having the conditions to succeed. He is clear that he wants to win, which is why he is in football.”
Glasner’s leadership has seen Palace win the FA Cup, follow it up with the Community Shield, and start strongly in the current Premier League campaign, positioning the club as a competitive force. His tactical approach, characterized by disciplined defensive organization and effective pressing, has been integral to Palace’s recent success.
Parish also addressed transfer speculation surrounding midfielder Adam Wharton, linked with interest from Manchester United. “Adam is focused on his time at Crystal Palace,” Parish stated. “He’s an extraordinary talent. At some point, he may want to play in the Champions League—whether that’s with us, if we achieve it, or elsewhere.”
The ongoing contract talks with Glasner signal Palace’s intention to build continuity and sustain progress under his guidance, leveraging his proven ability to elevate the squad’s competitive level and capitalize on recent trophies to establish a long-term winning culture.
