Bayern Munich ended their Bundesliga campaign in emphatic fashion with a 5-1 victory over 1. FC Köln as Harry Kane scored a hat trick during the club’s title celebrations at the Allianz Arena.
Already confirmed as Bundesliga champions after securing their 35th league title in April, Bayern completed the season on 89 points with a remarkable +86 goal difference.
The Bavarians also finished the campaign with 122 goals in all competitions, the highest scoring total recorded by a club from Europe’s top five leagues this century.
Kane once again led the attack, taking his tally to 58 goals across all competitions this season and surpassing the previous Bayern scoring benchmark set by Robert Lewandowski.
The England captain opened the scoring early before adding two more goals as Bayern overwhelmed Cologne throughout the match.
The victory highlighted the dominance of manager Vincent Kompany’s side, who have controlled the Bundesliga title race for most of the season.
The celebrations after the match also produced several emotional moments for Bayern supporters.
Club captain Manuel Neuer handed the Bundesliga trophy to Leon Goretzka, who is expected to leave the club this summer, while confetti filled the stadium during the official title presentation.
Michael Olise, recently named Bayern’s Player of the Season, also joined the celebrations and managed to avoid the traditional beer shower from teammates during the post match festivities.
The win capped one of the most productive attacking seasons in Bayern’s history and underlined the club’s continued dominance in German football.
