Celtic FC secured a dramatic 3-1 victory over Heart of Midlothian on the final day of the season to clinch a record extending 56th Scottish Premiership title.
The win at Celtic Park also sealed Celtic’s fifth consecutive league crown after a late comeback in front of home supporters.
Trailing late in the match, Celtic found a crucial equaliser through Daizen Maeda in the 87th minute after a VAR review confirmed the goal.
With the title race still hanging in the balance deep into stoppage time, substitute Callum Osmand scored the decisive goal to send Celtic two points clear and spark huge celebrations inside the stadium.
The final whistle was followed by a pitch invasion from supporters, forcing Hearts players to leave the field amid tense scenes before later returning.
Hearts later condemned the crowd disturbances while insisting the club would regroup and come back stronger next season.
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill, now 74, celebrated another major achievement in his career after lifting the league trophy.
“It feels like a dream,” O’Neill said after the match.
Forward Kelechi Iheanacho also joined the celebrations and joked about his successful record in title winning teams.
“If you need a trophy, call me,” Iheanacho said with a smile.
The title triumph capped another dominant domestic campaign for Celtic, who once again finished the season as champions of Scottish football after a dramatic final day turnaround.
