Responsible Gambling

Responsible Gambling

At WinOnBetOnline, we publish football analysis and predictions, but we believe betting should only ever be a form of entertainment, never a way to make money or escape problems. No prediction, however well researched, can guarantee a result. This page explains how to keep your betting under control, how to recognise when it’s becoming a problem, and where to get free, confidential help.

WinOnBetOnline is not a bookmaker. We don’t take bets, hold your money or sell “fixed matches,” and all our predictions are free. You must be 18 or over, or the legal gambling age where you live if that’s higher, to use this site.

Our Commitment

  • We never describe any prediction as “sure,” “guaranteed” or “risk-free.”
  • Every prediction page includes an 18+ notice and a reminder to bet responsibly.
  • We publicly track the results of our predictions, including the losses.
  • We don’t target content at anyone under 18.
  • We regularly publish guides on bankroll management and on avoiding betting scams.

How to Keep Betting Fun

  • Set a budget before you bet, and only use money you can afford to lose. Never use money meant for rent, school fees, food or bills.
  • Set a time limit and take regular breaks.
  • Never chase losses. Trying to win back what you’ve lost is the fastest way to lose more.
  • Don’t borrow to bet, whether from friends, family, loan apps or credit.
  • Don’t bet when you’re stressed, angry, low or drinking.
  • Treat any winnings as a bonus, not income.
  • Balance betting with other activities. It shouldn’t be your only hobby.

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Ask yourself these questions honestly:

  • Do you bet more than you planned, or more often than you meant to?
  • Do you chase losses or feel you need to win money back?
  • Have you borrowed money, sold things or used money meant for something else to bet?
  • Do you hide your betting from family or friends, or lie about how much you spend?
  • Do you feel anxious, irritable or restless when you try to cut down?
  • Do you bet to escape problems or to cope with difficult feelings?
  • Has betting affected your studies, work, relationships or sleep?

If you answered yes to any of these, it’s worth taking action now. Problem gambling can affect anyone, and help is available.

Tools to Help You Stay in Control

Use your bookmaker’s safer-gambling tools. Most licensed bookmakers let you:

  • Set deposit limits (daily, weekly or monthly)
  • Set loss and stake limits
  • Take a time-out for a few days or weeks
  • Self-exclude for months or longer
  • View your betting history to see what you’re really spending

You can usually find these in your account settings under “Responsible Gaming” or “Safer Gambling.” If you can’t find them, contact the bookmaker’s customer support.

Install gambling-blocking software. Blocking apps stop you from opening betting sites and apps on your phone and computer. GamblePause offers blocking tools and self-exclusion support built for Nigerian betting platforms. BetBlocker is a free blocking app available worldwide.

Get Free, Confidential Help

You don’t have to deal with it alone. These organisations offer free support.

In Nigeria

  • GamblePause Initiative Africa: a 24/7 helpline, live chat counselling, self-exclusion support, and a free rehabilitation centre in Yaba, Lagos.
  • Gamble Alert: free gambling therapy, awareness programmes and support for people affected by gambling.
  • Mentally Aware Nigeria Initiative (MANI): free, confidential mental health support, including for gambling-related stress and anxiety.

International

  • Gambling Therapy (gamblingtherapy.org): free online support and live chat in several languages, available worldwide.
  • Gamblers Anonymous (gamblersanonymous.org): peer support groups based on a 12-step programme.
  • GamCare (gamcare.org.uk): support and advice for people in the UK.

If you’re in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact emergency services or a crisis line right away. You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out. Talking to someone early makes a real difference.

For Family and Friends

If someone close to you is struggling with gambling, it can affect you too. Many of the organisations above also support families and friends. Try to talk openly without blame, avoid lending money for betting, and encourage them to reach out for help. Look after yourself as well.

Protecting Minors

Betting is for adults only. If you share a phone or computer with children, use parental controls such as Google Family Link, Apple Screen Time or blocking software to keep betting sites out of reach. Never share your betting account details.
