Barcelona Shines in Classic Comeback Against Real Madrid

In an exciting 261st El Clásico, Barcelona came from behind to defeat Real Madrid and move closer to winning the LaLiga title. Earlier this season, Barça had also beaten Madrid in the Supercopa de España and Copa del Rey finals.

Madrid started fast and earned a penalty early on when Kylian Mbappé took advantage of a mistake and was fouled by Barça’s goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczęsny. Mbappé calmly scored from the spot and then added a second goal shortly after with a sharp finish from a Vinícius Júnior pass.

Barcelona responded with determination. Thibaut Courtois made some strong saves, but Eric García scored with a powerful header from a flicked-on corner. Lamine Yamal, just 17 years old, then curled in a stunning shot to level the game.

The momentum kept swinging. A mix-up in Madrid’s defense gave Raphinha the chance to score after a great through ball from Pedri. Minutes later, Raphinha struck again after stealing the ball and finishing from close range.

The first half was packed with action. Mbappé had a goal disallowed for offside just before the break. Madrid made changes in the second half, but Barcelona kept pressing. Yamal had another goal ruled out because Raphinha was offside in the build-up.

Mbappé eventually completed his hat-trick thanks to a quick move involving Vinícius and Luka Modrić. Barcelona missed a few more chances, and Madrid’s attempt at a late comeback fell short, with another goal being disallowed.

Even though Fermín López had a late goal ruled out for handball, Barcelona secured a thrilling win. They are now seven points clear at the top of LaLiga and need just one more win from their final three matches to seal the title—and complete a treble. This result also ended Madrid’s four-match winning streak in the league.
