Victor Osimhen Career Goals: How Many Has He Scored for Club and Country?

Few strikers in modern football have improved as steadily as Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian has scored at almost every stop of his career, from a record-breaking youth World Cup to title-winning seasons in Italy and Turkey. As of 5 October 2026, Victor Osimhen has scored 214 senior career goals: 179 for his clubs and 35 for Nigeria.

That headline number hides a remarkable journey, because Osimhen did not score a single goal at his first European club. Below, we explain how the total is counted, follow his goals club by club, look at his record with the Super Eagles, and consider the milestones still within reach.

How Osimhen’s Career Goals Are Counted

The figures here cover official senior matches only: league games, domestic cups, European competitions and full internationals for Nigeria. Club friendlies and youth-team goals are not included. Statistics websites sometimes differ by a goal or two, usually because of how they treat Belgian play-off matches or reserve-team games, so the numbers below follow the most widely used club-by-club records.

Team Years Matches Goals
VfL Wolfsburg 2017 to 2018 16 0
Charleroi 2018/19 36 20
Lille 2019/20 38 18
Napoli 2020 to 2024 133 76
Galatasaray 2024 to present 78 65
Club total 301 179
Nigeria (senior) 2017 to present 35
Career total 214

Figures correct as of 5 October 2026.

Victor Osimhen’s Goals Club by Club

Wolfsburg and Charleroi: From Zero to 20

Osimhen joined VfL Wolfsburg in January 2017, after finishing as top scorer at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Injuries and a difficult adjustment to senior football left him without a goal in 16 first-team appearances. A loan to Belgian side Charleroi in 2018 changed everything. He scored 20 goals in 36 games, including 12 in the league, and was named the club’s Player of the Season.

Lille: 18 Goals in One Season

Lille signed him in 2019, and he needed only one campaign to become a top transfer target. He scored 18 goals in 38 matches, including 13 in Ligue 1 and two in the Champions League, the first of them against Chelsea. He also won the Marc-Vivien Foé Award as the best African player in Ligue 1, becoming its youngest winner at 21.

Napoli: 76 Goals and a Scudetto

Napoli paid a club-record fee of around 70 million euros in 2020. Osimhen repaid them with 76 goals in 133 games, 65 of them in Serie A. His best season was 2022/23, when he scored 26 league goals to win the Serie A golden boot and fire Napoli to their first title since 1990. That season he also passed George Weah to become the highest-scoring African in Serie A history at the time.

Galatasaray: 65 Goals and Counting

Osimhen moved to Galatasaray on loan in September 2024 and scored 37 goals in 41 matches, breaking Mario Jardel’s club record of 34 goals in a season set in 2000/01. Galatasaray won the league and cup double. The Turkish club then paid Napoli a reported 75 million euros, a record fee in Turkish football, to sign him permanently in July 2025.

He added 22 goals in 33 games in 2025/26, including seven in the Champions League, as Galatasaray retained the Süper Lig title. He started 2026/27 with six goals in his first four league matches, taking his Galatasaray total to 65 in 78 appearances.

Victor Osimhen’s Goals for Nigeria

Osimhen first became famous at the 2015 U-17 World Cup in Chile, where he scored 10 goals as Nigeria won the trophy. At senior level, he has scored 35 goals, making him the Super Eagles’ second-highest scorer of all time. Only the late Rashidi Yekini, with 37 goals in 62 matches, has scored more.

His 35th goal came in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Algeria in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals in January 2026. Speaking to ESPN after that match, Osimhen played down the record: “It doesn’t matter if I equal the record or I surpass it, the late Rashidi Yekini is the best striker the Super Eagles have ever produced.”

Key Records and Comparisons

Osimhen’s scoring rate has risen as his career has progressed. Across all his clubs, he averages roughly 0.59 goals per game, but since joining Napoli that figure is about 0.67. His 16 Champions League goals, scored for Lille, Napoli and Galatasaray, are the most by a Nigerian player in the competition.

His goals have also brought major individual honours. In 2023 he finished eighth in the Ballon d’Or voting and won the CAF African Player of the Year award, the first Nigerian man to do so since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.

What Comes Next for Osimhen?

Osimhen has not played since 4 September 2026, when he scored against Başakşehir before suffering a right adductor strain. The injury forced him out of Nigeria’s October AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau. Turkish media expect him to return against Kasımpaşa on 9 October, ahead of Galatasaray’s Champions League home game against Barcelona on 13 October.

When he is fit, two clear targets are waiting. Two more international goals would equal Yekini’s record, and 21 more club goals would take him to 200. On current form, both look realistic, and the 27-year-old’s career total of 214 is likely to keep rising quickly.
